When God Weeps
by Joni Eareckson Tada & Steven Estes

This book turned things around for me. I have referred it to so many people I lost count. I so appreciated Steven Estes’ contribution on the theology of suffering together with Joni’s contribution of real life personal testimony. At the time, I read it, I don’t think I would have responded to a book just on the theology or just on someone’s testimony. The two together is what makes this one of the most divinely anointed books I have ever read! I also was so moved by the cover art, I contacted the artist and purchased a print for my office.

Another great book of encouragement for dealing with life’s difficult circumstances. What can I say, I read this book twice.

This is an Amazing book that gives a fresh perspective on this transforming parable of the Father’s love.

It is a wonderful call to all believers to emulate the father.

Ruthless Trust
by Brennan Manning

One of my favorite quotes comes from this book: “To be grateful for an unanswered prayer, to give thanks in a state of interior desolation, to trust in the love of God in the face of the marvels, cruel circumstances, obscenities, and commonplaces of life is to whisper a doxology in darkness.”

His book Ragamuffin Gospel is also a must read.

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 MSG)
