There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:4-8 MSG
Our youngest daughter has a special fondness for Nativity sets. Through the years, she has kept us laughing as we have watched her mix and match the sets and sometimes even create her own version as seen in the featured picture we took in 2004! In addition to her “contextualizing”, I have come to enjoy Nativity sets from around the world. They remind me just how great is our God. The angel who appeared to the shepherds on that special night so long ago brought news that would cause great joy for all people. (Luke 2:10) This Christmas may you enjoy the Nativity sets shown below and may they remind us, that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Merry Christmas from Better Off Read Ministries! LH
